Sylvia independently owed and curated Studio Visuals @ 503 Queen St. E. in Toronto from 2003 -2020.
The gallery served as a collaborative art space, with a focus on Jamaican and African Canadian visual arts.

Sylvia emerged as a textile artist in 2019, using non-linguistic symbols, recycled fabrics, quilting and oral history to explore her family’s journey through the African diaspora. Sylvia designs, sews, and collects art to create wellness in her life.
Sylvia is currently the manager of University Health Network’s Telecommunication’s and Co-Chair of the UHN’s Black Legacy Committee.
