Suhmer Hyatt (pronounced like the season) is an illustrator from Toronto. Suhmer graduated from OCAD University Bachelor of Design graduate. She takes, sometimes intimidatingly complex, ideas and distills them into easily understandable images. She thinks of illustration as accessible fine art. Art is her first love and more recently, it has allowed her to express her exploration of her identity as a female designer of colour. She has learned that commodification of design does not automatically mean devoid of societal impact. Her goal is to influence the world through commercial means and modern design sensibilities.
